The internal whistleblower reporting office
The Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) has entered into force and many companies have to establish internal reporting offices. These offices must meet specific requirements.
The reporting office employee takes on the responsibility for a range of duties:
- organizing and managing the reporting office, including coordinating the various processes and ensuring proper operations,
- receiving information about violations,
- checking the validity of the information,
- processing the information and initiating any necessary follow-up measures, such as internal investigations, or forwarding the issue to the responsible external bodies,
- regular reporting on the processing status of reports and follow-up measures as well as
- providing easily understandable information about the whistleblowing and the reporting office (such as information brochures, training courses, etc.).
Certificate of expertise according to Section 15 of the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG)
Working in a reporting office not only demands organizational talent and legal knowledge. Above all, the employees must be able to guarantee confidentiality and compliance with the data protection regulations which apply to the reporting office.
So it comes as no surprise that Section 15 (2) of the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) expressly stipulates a certificate of expertise:
“Employers shall ensure that the persons entrusted with the duties of an internal reporting office shall possess the necessary expertise.”
Webinar to obtain the certificate of expertise
In response to the requirements of the Whistleblower Protection Act, we are collaborating with AuA-Magazin to offer (future) reporting office employees the opportunity to obtain the required qualification online.
The two-day webinar on June 4 and 5, 2024 will cover more than just the legal framework.
The course will also teach the practical skills needed to set up and operate internal reporting offices.
We place a major emphasis on interactive training sessions that range from theory to practice, providing the participants with the real skills needed to run a reporting office.
The course concludes with a 30-minute knowledge test and the participants are awarded a certificate if they pass.
This certificate also serves as the proof of expertise stipulated by Section 15 (2) of the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG).
The webinar will also offer plenty of time and opportunity for individual questions.
